Watch a tutorial on exploring and discovering opportunities in your organization based on jobs that match to your profile
Career pathing is a great way to discover opportunities in your organization. In this video, we'll show you how to build a career path so whether you're planning a lateral move or working towards a promotion, you'll know exactly what skills to develop now for the roles you hope to move into in the future. We provide two options for setting a path:
- Choose the Explore option to create a customized path one job at a time. The percentage indicates how closely a job matches your profile. Open the full description for a side-by-side comparison of your profile and the job requirements to get a clear idea of your strengths and the gaps to fill. Use the filter to select one department or explore across the entire organization to move into a new role.
- Choose the Discover option if you already have a dream job in mind and want to find the best route. CompetencyCore generates up to three different paths for you to choose from.
Before choosing a path, decide whether to share or keep your path private. Shared paths can be accessed by HR and your manager. Indicating your interest helps HR to fill roles internally with candidates who are passionate as well as qualified.
Your next step and target role are displayed in the side panel. Click any job for a more detailed view. From here, you can take the initiative to set a goal for a job in your path to guide your development.
Moving into a new role or changing the course of your career requires planning. With the right tools, you can take charge of your own professional development to build a path to success. Our Career Path Navigation tool equips you with a reliable map of your organization, so you can choose exactly where you want to go and how you'll get there.
